"The four valleys" is the largest ski area in Switzerland with more than 400 km pistes  of all levels. The chalet is situated at the edge of the largest of one of the valleys, "Secteur Printze", which offers 250 km of  pistes. In the Verbier direction we find the jewel of the area, "Mont Fort" (3300 m), and disregarding skiing abilities, you should take the gondola to the top and enjoy the view of the highest peaks of Europe, (i.e. Mont Blanc is a close neighbour). Skiing down from Mont Fort is off piste. It is better to take the gondola down, if you are not certain that serious off piste is your thing.

The trip from the chalet at one edge of the area to Verbier, which is at the other edge, takes approximately 60 minutes skiing. Going by car, it is a 75 km ride, where a large part is mountain driving. Even under optimal traffic conditions the trip takes about 90 minutes. Another possibility is to drive down the mountain and turn towards Nendaz in direction of Siviez, which is at the very heart of The four Valleys. From Siviez there is a large chair lift going up to the Mont Fort lift. It is a 30 minute drive to  Siviez .

It is profitable to buy a lift card to the local area, "Secteur Printze" and supplement it with day-to-day expansions to the rest of the area, which should be experienced.

Up to a certain age, children lift cards are free.

All together, the area offers a wide variety of skiing, outings and the possibility of longer trips, and you only have to be slightly more than an absolute beginner in order to enjoy great skiing between the valleys. But be careful if the weather looks a bit dodgy, because many of the trips reach and go over the peaks, (up to approx. 2700 meters above sea level), and if the weather conditions are too poor, the highest lifts may be closed.
